This last month has completely flown by! With the Holiday Season here, I feel like time is going by even faster. Today my little man turned 7 months old, and this Thursday is his first Thanksgiving. Good thing his favorite food right now is sweet potatoes! Here’s both our 7 month updates and progress.
7 Months Postpartum:
I’m feeling much more like my old self again, except for the sleep deprivation. Since I was pregnant last winter, I’m excited to be able to fit into all my pre-pregnancy warm weather clothes. It’s like having a whole new wardrobe. The Halloween candy, along with the upcoming Thanksgiving dinner is putting a stall on my progress but that’s ok. I’m able to lift heavier, and my stomach is still getting harder so that shows me that I’m getting somewhere. The one thing I’m having trouble doing is running. The weather is so great outside and perfect running weather, but I haven’t found a supportive nursing sports bra that won’t also cut into my milk supply. (At least not a cheap one.) So if any of you other mama’s have one that they love, let me know!
(Not the best progress photo, but been so busy this month that I haven’t had a chance to take one yet! I’ll put one on the next blog post.)
Weekly Workout:
(Found this on Pinterest. I’ve been doing it for the last week and love it! #notaPinterestfail!)
Healthy Side Dish Idea:
We have recently been loving our vegetable steamer. Super easy to use, and delicious. I just use a little salt and pepper to season. So far our favorites are asparagus and broccoli. They make a great and healthy side to any dish and only takes about 10 minutes to make.
Braxton’s 7 Month Update:
Brax is growing everyday and becoming so curious about the world around him. He wants to touch and explore everything and he’s sitting up on his own now. Here’s some more highlights from this past month!
(His daddy is so jealous of his Nike outfit. Blair wants a matching one!)
- Rolling over from his back to his front!
- Eating two meals a day. Favorite foods are sweet potato, carrots and squash. He hates anything with fruit.
- Says dada!
- Babbling all the time, still no mama though…
- Still not sleeping through the night.
- Got his first two teeth! His bottom two middle teeth grew in about 2 weeks ago.
- Learning to use a sippy cup.
- Sits in a high chair at restaurants now. Also sits in his stroller without the carseat adapter now.
- Went on his longest car trip to Fort Worth for a baby shower.
(Brax eating while visiting his friend Helen. Helen is going to be a big sister! We had a great time at the baby shower.)
At his 6 month check up he was 18 pounds 14 ounces. I’m sure he’s at least 20 pounds now! He has another appointment next week so we’ll see!
(Braxton loves his Grandpa and Grandma! We are lucky they live so close and get to see him grow up.)
Even though Thanksgiving is on Thursday…we went ahead and put up our Christmas decorations yesterday! I’m so excited. This is not only Braxton’s first Christmas, but it’s also our first Christmas in our new house. So it’s exciting to be able to decorate our own home. Here’s a sneak peak of what we have done so far!
(I love decorating the tree. We have already gotten our family ornament for the year, but we still need to get Braxton his first Christmas Ornament. I’m on the lookout for a Mickey’s Baby’s 1st Christmas one!)
(I love our table. So simple and yet so festive!)
(Blair has been working on the outside. I’ll post another picture when it’s all finished!)
Stay tuned for the next blog post featuring Braxton’s 1st Thanksgiving, our Family Christmas Photo and some of Braxton’s 1st Christmas Photos! I’m so excited!
(We have the happiest little baby, but sometimes he isn’t always in the mood for photos…)
