Since we are all stuck at home, what better time to do projects? Our latest project was making over our toddler’s Playhouse.

This Wooden Playhouse is super cute already, but the great thing about it being made out of wood is that it is easy to customize. It also is basic and plain, so you are able to personalize it and add your own touch.

We started by painting the roof and door black. Next we moved the playhouse to the patio to make it easier to paint the walls. (We did use painter’s tape around the ceiling to keep lines straight.) We painted both the inside and outside walls white. The White Paint is Behr Ultra Pure White Flat Exterior Paint and Primer in One. The Black Paint is Behr Ultra Black Flat Exterior Paint and Primer in One.

After the paint dried, we installed the stove, phone and sink back in the playhouse. We also bought and installed some interior and exterior lights. We bought some small clay pots and painted them black and will be getting some flowers to fill them with. We plan to also add some curtains to the large side windows.

Step 1: Building the House.
House Built.
Step 2: Roof and door painted.
Step 3: Hardware, and all inside kitchen appliances removed. Door and ceiling taped using painters tape.
Step 4: We would move the house to hang off the edge of the porch just a small enough to be able to paint all the way to the bottom. Then rotate to do each side.
Added interior lights.
Step 5: Added exterior lights, and painted flower pots.

This has been such a fun project for us to do while we are stuck at home. My son is so excited about it, and having fun outdoor toys has been so important in getting his energy out. Looking forward to doing our next DIY project, a Laundry Room Makeover!

Done!
