Since Kaley just turned 6 months old, I thought I would share the Top 10 products that have been the most useful, especially with second babies and a toddler to look after! (I will say that these are completely different from the top products I picked when Braxton was a baby 3 years ago. Click here to see that post. First of all the number 1 product is actually recalled now, and second of all every baby is just different in general and might have different needs. So these are just what worked for us, and a good place to start if your looking at building a baby registry!)
- Dohm Sound Machine: We originally got one of these for Braxton when he was born, and I am so glad we got a second one for Kaley. It has been so helpful for blocking out big brother’s loud noises when Kaley is napping. (They also have a portable sound machine which I carry in my bag for when we are out in public and she needs to nap. It’s also great for traveling.)
2. DockATot: This is one of those baby essentials that people either swear by or warn you about because they are afraid of the risks. For us, it’s a must have, but I would say do your own research on it and decide if it is best for you or not.
3. Haakaa: I posted a picture on my Instagram of my freezer stash and so many people asked what I do to build it up. To be honest I haven’t used my electric pump at all. My whole stash is built by using the Haakaa and I highly recommend getting at least 2. I use it the most at night and it’s annoying washing it in the middle of the night.
4. Baby Bath Tub: I love this tub because it grows with the baby. The sling is great for newborns, then you take out the sling and it works for babies who can’t sit up yet. Once a baby is sitting up, there’s a seat for them to sit.
5. Baby Carrier: I honestly didn’t baby wear as much as I thought I would, but when we were out in public, this was the only way I could handle both kids. Kaley wasn’t a fan of the stroller or her carseat, so I would just wear her.
6. Comotomo Bottle: Kaley won’t take a bottle anymore, but she did up until she was about 3 months old. This is the bottle that she liked the most.
7. Nose Frida/Oogiebear Nose Picker: The bulb is out. These are the two best ways to clear a baby (or even toddler’s) nose. Trust me.
8. California Calendula Cream: When Kaley was about 7 weeks old, she got a horrible case of baby acne. Nothing worked. (Including breastmilk.) This cream is a little expensive, but a little goes a long way. Worked in 24 hours to clear all her baby acne, and works great on cradle cap too.
9. Luli Bebe Diaper Backpack: Having two kids means taking lots of stuff with you wherever you go. This diaper backpack is perfect because it can hold my whole house.
10. Muslim Swaddles: Kaley was not a fan of any swaddle that forced her hands down (or even up.) She wanted her arms completely free and these swaddles were perfect for that. They are so soft, and great for other uses as well. (Blanket, burp clothes, etc.)
