A day late, but the sentiment is still there. It was definitely the best one yet as well! I got spoiled by 2 boys this year! And even though we didn’t go out to dinner due to a sick little boy, we did get take out from Zoe’s Kitchen which was delicious.

(My sweet husband spoiled me this year. The matching set to my necklace.)

(My first Valentine’s card from my little boy and my husband has learned that a bouquet of candy is more my style then flowers. Love him for that.)

Before that though, we had a really busy week. Last Saturday was Blair’s 30th birthday and we had a little party for him at the house. He wanted a keg and what I learned from that is that kegs are a lot more expensive in Austin then in a college town. But anyhow, the party turned out great and we all had so much fun. Even Braxton! Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. It was our first party in our new house and we enjoyed getting to see all our friends. I also used this as a trial run for Braxton’s 1st Birthday. I have been debating whether to have his party at our house, or at a park. I know more people will come to Braxton’s party since we’re inviting family and friends. If anyone has any advice, or insight from their own little one’s big 1st birthday then let me know! I’m still so undecided and I know I need to start getting invites made and planning done! (The theme of course has already been decided.)

(Had fun using the Instax Camera we got for Christmas! Can’t wait to use this for Braxton’s birthday too, possibly with a backdrop and props…thoughts?)

One downside to this week has been that after the party, Blair got sick. First his throat started hurting then a day after that Braxton got sick. It’s the first time Braxton’s really been sick and having a sick baby is the worst thing in the world. Them not being able to tell you what’s wrong, and hearing them cough and sound so congested makes you feel powerless. His nose has been really runny too but luckily he had a lowgrade fever which seems to be gone now. We’ve been using a humidifier at night and have kept his dockatot elevated with a wedge so that the drainage doesn’t get in his ears and give him an ear infection. It’s been two days and he seems better but I still feel bad for him every time I hear him cough or have to wipe his nose. And of course now I’m sick. So it’s been a rough few days but hopefully we’ll all be better by this weekend.

Being a mom can be really hard sometimes. But it’s also really rewarding. I love that he’s starting to give hugs and kisses. Hearing him say mama, and realizing that even though he’s super social and loves seeing new people he still just wants his mama at night. I love my little guy and will always be his biggest cheerleader. I still feel so full of love from yesterday, and I enjoy loving on both my boys. I try to soak up as much of these moments as I can, because I know that when I blink he’ll be grown and won’t want to spend his Valentine’s Day with his mama anymore. I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday full of love!

Here’s to love! Sometimes it’s ok to “spoil” the ones you love. Because you have to enjoy the moment since tomorrow is never promised.

(Grandma and Grandpa love to spoil our little guy, and I love to see his smile when he gets excited!)
