How is it that my baby boy is already 11 months old? Sometimes I have to stop and think when people ask how old he is be. And then I’m shocked when I say it out loud because I feel like I just had him. But it was almost a year ago! It makes me think back to this time last year. Life was so different. I do miss some things, but most of those are somewhat selfish things like doing my nails. I wouldn’t trade my life now for anything and I do feel much more like myself again. Not sure if it’s because I’m getting more sleep now, but I did also read an article that said it takes about a year to actually recover from childbirth so that makes sense too. So minus the fact that I still have the line on my stomach, and my hair is still trying to regrow, I am now back to my old self.

(This boy loves being outside! I can’t wait til he can walk so we can play outside more without him getting his butt and hands so dirty…)

Braxton is at such a fun age now where he is playing more! His favorite game is peek-a-boo. If your sitting on the ground he’ll come up behind you and play peek-a-boo. It’s so cute. Or he’ll find a large box and cover his face and try to play with you that way. Other new things this past month include:

  • Standing on his own! He has pulled up to his feet a few times on his own, and if you stand him up then he is able to hold himself up on his own for a few minutes.
  • He “walks” on his knees.
  • He uses the full bathtub now! He loves bath time and playing with his toys.
  • Puts himself to sleep most of the time. (We put him down drowsy for naptimes and after fighting it for about a minute he’ll fall asleep in his crib.)
  • He also now will wake up from naps/sleep and instead of crying, he’ll get up and play around in his crib. As long as he has teddy and his aquarium then he’s content staying in his crib instead of crying for us to come get him.
  • Not sure of his height and weight yet. We’ll see at his 1 year appointment!
  • Has 6 teeth now! 4 on top and 2 on bottom.

(Got this idea from Pinterest to keep Braxton’s bath toys and shampoo organized. Bath mat from Buy Buy Baby, rod and baskets from Target.)

We had a great first St. Paddy’s day with him. Much different then in the past, but I love spending all the holiday’s now with our little guy. (We also had a date night that night while Grandma watched the little one so we could see the new Beauty and the Beast movie. Loved it!)

(Forgot to post this on St. Paddy’s Day but here’s his St. Patrick’s Day outfit!)

I had a nice and relaxing 29th birthday this past week. We also got to celebrate both my parents birthday’s, and my sister and brother-in-law came in town. Braxton loved seeing them, and also loved chasing their dog around. Someday we’ll have to get him a dog because he loves them! My brother-in-law took Braxton’s 1 year old pictures!! I can’t wait to share them with everyone. Although Braxton didn’t quite love the cake (unlike his mama, who still ate his cake after he was done playing with it…), the pictures still turned out great. I’m now in full party planning mode for his Mickey themed birthday. Getting lots of ideas off Pinterest and hoping they turn out well. I can’t wait to see all our friends and family and celebrate 1 year of life with the best little guy!

(Loving on his Grandparents on his Grandpa’s birthday!)

People sometimes ask us when or if we’ll have another little one. Especially as Braxton gets older, we get the questions more and more. It’s something I think about too. I’m pretty sure we’ll try to have another one when Brax gets closer to 2 years old. But it is something I wonder about. I love him so much, but could I love another baby just as much? Could I give two kids as much attention and I give the one now? Will Braxton feel abandoned when I can’t play with him because a new baby needs me? They may seem like stupid questions but it’s things I wonder about. So in the meantime I’m going to enjoy this next year with my little family of 3!

(Showing off his standing skills!)

I’ve been super busy lately with chasing Braxton around, trying to get our house ready for a giant party, and revamping my blog page. I’m sure life will just keep getting busier, but I can’t wait to see what’s next for us!
